How Emergency Engineers Operate
Faulty gas installations, poorly maintained gas appliances and a lack of gas safety measures are the cause of thousands of unnecessary deaths each year. A frightening thought indeed! All it takes is to choose the right emergency engineers to help you avoid a host of serious gas safety related problems.

If your concern is how to go about choosing gas safety engineers, you need to ensure that the person is registered with the Gas Safe Register and qualified to work on specific gas and heating appliances. You can check the engineer’s ID proof to make sure the person is registered.
Emergency gas engineers will carry out a gas safety inspection and then provide you with a gas safety certificate (gas safety record). You have to check that the certificate has the engineer’s ID number, the Gas Safe Register logo, property address and appliances contained therein, inspection date and defects if any with remedial action to be taken.
If a defect is found in either the gas installation or Gas Services appliance, the engineer will either leave a warning to have it fixed or disconnect the appliance. You then need to have the problem sorted out and attach the paid invoice from the engineer to your certificate. There is no need to repeat the gas safety inspection all over again to get a new gas safety certificate.
Gas safety inspections need to be carried out annually by a registered and qualified engineer to avoid emergencies.
Always have your appliances serviced regularly and the inspections done on time. Never try to repair anything yourself or tamper with the installations.
